26 Sep FALL CLEAN UP
Greetings Calvary Family and Friends,
You are welcome in our church; all are Welcome in our church. It is our church motto as we focus on People, with the Purpose to faithfully respond to Christ’s call to be His Followers, and a Passion for Jesus, our Savior and Friend.
Last Sunday, I experienced something so uncommon these days, that it just left me speechless. We held an abbreviated contemporary service and then spent the next 3+ hours working with our friends from the Torre Fuerte church all cleaning and repairing the Sunday School rooms as well as our outside grounds, which included our secured playground area. We had a combined total of 70+ men, women, youth, and children…and…it was impressive…and…I want to thank all who coordinated this effort!
Then we all broke bread together as we shared a lunch of pizza and salad.
This fellowship is a sign of God’s Holy Spirit moving within our church, and this coming Sunday, September 29, we will be finishing our discussion on James with a focus on healing. As we come in contact with others, especially within our Christian community, we notice that many of our friends, family, co-workers, and others are going through a sickness of some kind. James 5:13-20 tells us that we should call upon our elders to pray over the sick, and that these prayers of faith will save the sick. Plus, this notion was even mentioned in the Psalms, as Psalm 41:1-3 tells us that the Lord sustains us and heals us.
Come Sunday and hear more about all of this, and feel Welcomed!
All the best in our Risen Christ,
Rev. Ken Rathje
